Proof — Monstrous moonshine

Statement

Monstrous Moonshine Conjecture (McKay–Thompson–Norton, 1979s): the Monster group representation dimensions and the coefficients of the modular j-invariant match in a structured way. Richard Borcherds (1992) proved this is mathematical necessity—not coincidence—via vertex operator algebras and the Monster Lie algebra. Theorem; formalizable and proved in ZFC.
